I am getting my wife a remote car starter. I want to get a factory one (do not want warranty issues). I can not find one anyplace. I guess the dealer is the best/only place to get one.

For my Charger I was told about a web site that had the best prices on OEM MOPAR parts. They are actually a dealership but for some reason sell parts for about 1/2 what all the other dealers charge. What is cool about Dodge is I added well over 150hp using MOPAR racing parts and the car with all the mods is covered 100% by the lifetime warranty. Including the performance parts. All because the parts are MOPAR. So the heads, TB, Intake, Exhaust, Cams, Ignition, TQ converter, ect, ect, ect, are all covered. (Only thing that will void the warranty is the tuner and tunes I have had made. However, I just re-flash before I go into the dealer.) No one cares but I am so happy to mod the hell out of a car without voiding a warranty.

What was my point.... Oh yea. I want to find a source for a factory remote starter that cost lest then what a dealer sells them for and have my dealer install it.

Good luck finding this deal as you'll likely hit a wall - Saturn factory remote starting is basically enabling programming and possibly additional wire harnesses if they're not already there. The programming is to enable factory remote starting that's most likely part of the body control module (BCM) that also has the keyless remote program for the doorlocks and Passlock anti-theft system. Whether your bcm has remote starting capabilities and simply needs to be enabled or needs to be exchanged with another bcm is something only Saturn can tell you, if they want to. Access to programming is through their Techtool II equipment and not possible for any aftermarket users. Retaining control of software/firmware of any bcm is crucial to securing the integrity of the GM/Passlock anti-theft system as this system interfaces with the ignition cylinder, ECM, and TCM to electronically communicate the anti-theft signals preventing a quick steal. There are many more aftermarket remote start packages that has been used with reliable results due to the aftermarket learning from mistakes early on. I as well as many others here have an aftermarket remote start that uses the industry 'bypass' module that allows aftermarket remote starts to work seamlessly with the factory anti-theft system without any compromises.

If you are fortunate you may be able to have Saturn enable your Vue for remote starting by accessing the bcm. Whether you can have this for little cost or pay retail is another matter.

How/what does Dodge do to handle anti-theft? Same as GM? GM's newest Passlock anti-theft system ('05 Vette?) is the microchip transponder embedded into the keyfob requiring nothing more than being within 50-feet proximity to disable its anti-theft system. Its presumed that most of the high end cars are using this now.

Thank you for all the information!
Yes sir. The exact same thing for anti theft.
I ordered all three kits for the Dodge yesterday for my remote start. All OEM stuff. The kit, the range extender, and the instillation kit. All Dodge part numbers and all the Dodge logos. Cost? $380.00 on that site ( www.moparsupercenter.com) vs $680.00 at the Dodge dealer for the same parts and no instillation. They told me that was the best price around and I could not get Dodge parts for less. The Dodge dealer (stealership) is such a rip off. That is why I figured the same would be true for the Saturn.
I am going to hit the Saturn dealer up today and see what it is going to cost.

I did not know what the hell you were talking about before. Now I see. You can not even get a dealer installed car starter.
I had to go to best buy and get some POS Viper. :(
