I bought 2005 Vue with 35K miles two months back. Perfect condition and great runner until today but fails to start. Accessories work with key in ACC but no dash lights are on with key in RUN. The starter spins engine in START but engine does not start. It ran great until turned off - in my driveway - after trip to car wash ... and now there's apparently no power to ignition system. I've checked many posts for something similar with no clues.
Can anyone point me in right direction?

Are you still under the factory warranty? You may have coverage so check with your dealer and your paperwork otherwise there's some troubleshooting to do beginning with checking all the fuses everywhere. This can be either fuel or ignition related so fuses would be the first place to start. Fuel and ignition would be two separate areas next.

I appreciate the response ... no warranty remains for this little beast.
I might not have made exact problem clear ... the key turns and accessories operate as expected in ACC ... however, when key is turned to RUN none of the dash instruments or lights respond (gages, seat belt, airbag, MIL, etc) and fuel pump and seat belt chime do not run / sound. If I continue to turn key to start -- the starter motor turns engine normally but for naught as there's obviously no power for ignition system.
I've not yet located a Vue wiring diagram but past experiences appear to implicate the ignition switch. (I've not yet grasped how the security system could be involved).
I've read of others with ignition switch related issues but none similar to mine.
Update ... the no-start condition occurred Saturday PM but the freaking thing operates normally this (Sunday) morning. I'm in deep kimchi as the Mrs has taken my pickup until I solve the Saturn. Incidentally, I checked for codes and none were stored for this malfunction.
No suggestions will be ignored!

You are contradicting yourself; your first sentence says no ignition ON with nothing ringing/dash display but the last sentence says you're running because the engine starts and runs!? If the engine can start and run then the ignition has to be ON in order for the engine to run!? :whoa: No display but the engine able to start and run now seems to point to the instrument panel not working while the engine electronics works. Fuses checked? And yes, this may appear to be the ignition switch too but not having ignition ON cannot allow you to start and run the engine. Even Passlock won't turn off the instrument panel display. All it does is disable the fuel pump from running while lighting up the security icon.

Check the BCM fuse 15a in the center console fuse juction box.

fdryer ... its possible you misread my post ... last sentence says starter turns engine normally but no ignition. I also indicated problem occurred Saturday but Vue started OK Sunday.
I used several hours today testing the ignition switch and found intermittency after many cycles. I'll have a replacement by Tuesday and intend to dissect the defect to see what went tango uniform.
I'm so thankful the +12 to ignition segment failed in my driveway rather than while I was in the boondocks or trying to keep up with traffic on I-80.
BobbyP ... thank you for advice to check the 15a BCM fuse ... I checked all fuses ...even though problem was intermittent in nature ... just in case there was some sort of loose wire or corrosion problem.

Maybe a poor choice of words as I did read conflicting sentences.. " however, when key is turned to RUN none of the dash instruments or lights respond (gages, seat belt, airbag, MIL, etc) and fuel pump and seat belt chime do not run / sound. If I continue to turn key to start -- the starter motor turns engine normally but for naught as there's obviously no power for ignition system." Then "Update ... the no-start condition occurred Saturday PM but the freaking thing operates normally this (Sunday) morning."
There seems to be inconsistency and that's a problem in and of itself!? I never meant to make it seem as harsh as it came out. It also seems like you've narrowed it down to the ignition switch, hopefully resolving it with the replacement.
