Probably a stupid question, but I can't find a drain plug for the RDM on my 04 v6 AWD vue. Do you have to open the differential housing and then replace the gasket each time you change the fluid? Thanks for the help (sure wish someone would publish a reasonably priced repair manual for this car).

Drain and fill plugs are on the front side. It's not made like a typical rear and doesn't have the removable cover. Use only Versatrak fluid. Some guys are starting to use Royal Purple 'Synchromax' instead.

If you could, would you post a few pics of the RDM and let us know how it went. The dealer wants $175 for a fluid change, albeit the price of the fluid is expensive.
