HELP! Dash Light??

this is probably something simple to someone with a owners manual, but our new(used) vue didn't have one and mine hasn't come in yet. heres a pic of which light it is.

i put my OBDII scanner on it...and theres no codes.....

not sure what this light means?

That looks like the Service Engine Soon (SES) indicator. Try going to Autozone or someplace similar and try their scanner/reader for comparison.

With the low mileage its probably a small leak in the evap emission control system, aka the 'gas cap loose syndrome'. Mine just repeated again recently after not using the car over a week and went away after a few ignition on/off cycles. Either try a reset with your reader and clean/wipe the gas cap gasket/filler neck and a light spray of silicone on the gasket to rejuvenize it and hope it goes away or get the code to be sure what it is if its more than the gas cap not tightened down.

It's the CEL "Check Engine Light". Light steady on means an emission control system malfunction has been detected. If the light is flashing, your engine in misfiring.

Light steady:

1. Check your fuel cap, reinstall it.

2. Did you drive through a deep puddle of water? It should dry out

3. Have you changed brands of fuel? Poor quality fuel can illuminate this.

thanks for all the info guys. i was thinking emission code too since its running fine....but for some reason my scanner isnt pulling a code....which i know it works since i tried on my car and truck and it read them fine....truck has a consistent P0440 code for emission too..just gotten use to and to lazy to replace cap on it..haha hoping same on this vue.
