Just curious if the timing belt/chain on the 2003 Vue AWD is a recommended 60000 mile replacement.
Thanks for the input in advance!

Saturn recommends the transmission fluid be changed at 60K for the 2003 V6 AWD. This is different from the manual.

Hi,
I apologize for the delay, thank you all for the input. The engine is a 6cyl, 3.0L. From the previous posts I assume that it is 100000 miles. Seems like an awful lot of miles.....

Not when you take into consideration that the water pump should be replaced at the same time since its behind the cam covers and the whole procedure is very labor intensive just to access the timing belt. Look in the L-series forum threads for the same procedures done by DIYer's with pictures. Its no walk in the park and the very least pieces of technical equipment required were a pair of vise grips and ty-wraps for the most cost effective repairs against close to $1000 for Saturn to do it using proper stuff. Some have reported hardly any belt wear while another found shredded belt material after extensive troubleshooting caused by skipped timing. Caught in time before damage occurred.
