Rust on Rear Hatch '06 VUE

Hey guys. I've got an '06 VUE with 60,000 miles on it and noticed something disturbing. I've got some paint bubbling up on the rear hatch right above the chrome saturn logo underneath the window. Not sure what the warranty is for this kind of stuff and wanted to know if there was anyone else out there with the same problem. I live in Indiana where the winters are harsh and salty but c'mon 3 years? I bought it from a good guy in Houston, TX. Any thoughts or comments would be great.

New owner of a 2008 Vue after trading in my 2006 Vue due to the same problem that you are having. My paint bubbled up on the hood about the size of my fist and two spots on the back hatch. Any chance you have the Chili-pepper Red? I live in Iowa where we deal with a good amount of salt...but at 17,000 miles to be dealing with that kind of issue...FORGET IT!

Mine had a rust bubble forming at the end of the tailgate chrome logo. It also started to develop little dark spots bubbling up all over the rear hatch like pimples! They explained that some Vues had this issue but didn't have an explanation. I'd think that it might be contamination on the sheet metal surface prior to being painted.

Anyways, I was still within warranty so they re-painted the hatch for me. Looks good and seems to be holding up so far. Haven't found spots anywhere else.

From memory, I believe Mellisam posted that she had a rust bubble from the emblem. She found that the end of the emblem was digging into the paint due to lack of clearance. She took the emblem off and added a gasket or shim and remounted to create more clearance.

Well, I'm sending the VUE in tomorrow for a look-see. Last week at 72000 miles I got an engine light, an airbag light, i blew a rear brake fuse and my cruise control stopped working. SO I guess we'll see what they say. My questions is I know that I have seen the part number for the foam spacer posted here at some point to fix the tailgate rust. Anyone have that handy to make sure I get it?

Just an update, to Saturn's credit they took care of the rust on the rear hatch without having to be anyone up about it. I'm still looking for the seat heat/airbag sensor replacement part is anyone has any leads. Thanks.
