Hi,
This is my first post hence looking forward to the reply / comments eagerly.
I have just bought a 2.2 Standard vue (2004).
The dealer replaced the front brake pads and rotors
Rear pads and drums
Also the stabliser links (All for Saftey)
Tires are in good condition and just got them balalnced today ( All Four)
Buit still as i approach the 100KMPH mark the truck starts to shiver and shake a bit.
What should i do
Any inputs/ comments will be appreciated

was the alignment checked? make sure it's a 4 wheel alignment; the rears are adjustable on the VUE.
even tires that are balanced can have 'bubbles' in them.
to eliminate the tires as a possible cause, try moving the fronts to the rear and try it out. but my bet is on alignment.
btw, welcome! there is a small fun group of 2.2/5speed owners here and a few of us are even helpful!:)

Hello and welcome...the 2.2 with the stick is a fun ride...
Sounds like a wheel balance issue to me, if it was at all speeds I would be thinking bent rim... maybe you threw a weight, maybe they screwed up? It happens.... Moving the tires around to try to isolate the problem is a good idea.

Thankx for your responce
Tires are balanced and rotated
Problem still persists
Tire Size 235/65/16
The door sticker says 30PSI on all four
However there is another sticker ( Which Says Tire Pressure Update )
this update says 35 PSI
I m confused

35 is correct..some users here go even higher - I keep mine right at 35.
I believe they made the change/update in 2004.

Try about 32 psi cold - you might get the ride you want plus slightly better mileage. Just because somebody 'balanced' your tires doesn't mean it was properly done. 1/2 ounce can cause a shake. Also, the tires (or tire) may be bad - a slight belt separation, for example, or just out-of-round. You could also have a bent wheel or two. Chances are you won't get rid of it completely until you get new tires.
Confusion on the air pressure stickers; imagine the confusion of the guy who gets my VUE sometime in the future - it came with 235/65/16 tires, which is on the sticker, but I changed it to the later-model wheels and 235/60/17s!

Thankx for the reply
Sorry for a late response was out to the cottage for the weekend (ON MY VUE !)
Had the tire pressure @ 30 PSI cold and was almosr perfect till 115 KMPH
After that there was a shake and it sort of died again @ 135-140 KMPH
(NOT SURE WHY)
Thankx again

Also as far as the confusion on the tire pressure is concerned the original wheels sizes are 253 65 16 and noone has changed them so far
May be the second stiker update on the door was a update from the saturn dealer ship

Are balance weights on both sides of the rim?
Sometimes they try to do a 1-sided balance (inside so you don't see the weights) and you get the shimmy problem.

IMO the tires are not true. The lower air pressure is causing the tires to be more compliant to the out of roundness. The defect becomes apparent when the higher pressure forces them to be more round.
Are they Bridgestone Duellers?
I keep 40 psi in my Nitto's.

I think mine would shake too at (100KMPH) 100,000 MPH ;)
I have been running mine at 32 PSI and noticed that with 225-70-16s the centers of the tire are wearing out. I'm going to drop mine to 30 to hopefully help this. Just Hope he the ride handling isn't too soft at that pressure.

Sometimes, tires go bad. Belts can separate in the tire casing. While the tire is "balance", it can cause mishandling at higher speeds. I've had it happen in Firestone and Yokahama tires.
The previous owner could have broken a belt in pothole, etc.
You can try rotating the tires to see if you can find if it is a specific tire.
If you are sure all the suspension and drivetrain components are OK, I would consider dumping the Duelers. The tire you have on your VUE is the same as mine. The 16" Duelers don't have that good of a rating. Most any other tire is better.
I went with Michelin (Energy LX4). There are bunches of choices to go with.
Good Luck!
