My wifes 02 vue periodicly has no directionals. She has an hour commute with our 1yr old son in the car. They will work for the first few miles or so then just stop all together. She has to pull over shut the car off then once in a while they will come back on and work again. If you push the hazard light switch in it will flash but you have to hold the switch in , it wont "click" on. Anyone know what needs to be done? Thanks, Mike

Hazard light switch needs to be replaced. If I'm not mistaken it doubles as a switch and a flasher relay.

Absolutely correct, the hazard switch is the issue. I determined my 2002 VUE with 118k miles has the same issue. Try wiggling the hazard switch with the turn signal on, instead of turning off the vehicle. I have not replaced my switch at this time as it is still intermittent and I found that pushing up on the button restores the signals.
Anyone know how difficult it is to replace the switch and if the housing needs to be replaced as well?

i just had to fix my mount for the switch, it took about a total of 5 mins, pop the shifter bezel off, there is 4 screws for the lil map pocket, the trim piece that surrounds the radio ect pops off (watch the position of cold/hold dial) pull those off, the hazard connector and the dimmer connector- and you have the trim peice off to replace switch and mount if it had broken.

I have the same problem with mine right now, most likely in the switch.
