As if that lower return spring in the rear brakes of my 03 L81 Vue was going ANYWHERE...
Im 6'-1", around 220lbs, and that is one tuff spring....
But, finally, I got it off, nice clean rebuild now.

So at around 90K now, on this 03 L81 V6 Vue, and wondering what else I should do at this mileage interval to promote the future health of this high-mileage, still lots of $$ to be paid off yet, vehicle?

Aside from the normal "inspect this and that" in the owners manual, anyone have any good tips?
Thanks in Advance....:arr:

There is substantial work to be done at or near 100,000. Timing belt, trans oil change, spark plugs/coils, coolant change, etc. Most people will replace the water pump when doing the belt. Lots of things to check, like all front end components, all suspension/steering parts, axle CV joints, rear driveshafts/carrier bearing/U-joints....now I'm tired of typing - it's a lot of stuff. Just check everything.

Next time just remove the easier top green spring. The bottom blue spring can be pulled holding the shoe (while still attached) to detach from the hub. No need to be using pliers or anyting to pulling the bottom spring. Been there done that, Vue Rear Brakes are actually a piece of cake. I also recommend using a nut driver to press down the cicular springs and twisting the hold-down pins so it locks or unlocks to the circular springs. I hope this advice helps someone down the road.
