I have 2004 V-6 Vue. It has 78,000 miles on her. Yesterday with air temps around 83 degrees, my CEL came on for 1 hour. After an hour of sitting around it went away.

Is this something to be concerned with? Hopefully it'll stay off. Knock on wood.

Also I'm hearing like a brake squeal when turning. I did my brakes at 50K with Auto Zone Duralast Ceramics. I think they should still be good. End linksor bushings?

Thanks all.

My guess is its the gas cap leak from not tightening, just needing tightening or cleaning the filler neck of any debris and cap gasket for a good seal. Silicone spray on the cap gasket worked for me when I had the code for a small evap leak. You'll never really know what turned on the CEL until next time so when/if it does just stop by your friendly auto store that can scan/read the DTC's for free (Autozone is the recommended chain but any chain store willing). Then you'll know for sure by comparing the code(s) written down to the OBD II Powertrain Codes listed in the How-to library on page 5 under the same heading.

The squealing should be looked into asap as a precaution in case something got caught or loose but at least you'll be giving the car a good going over. Whatever wheel is jacked up, spin the wheel to listen for any noises/squealing. Just part of normal maintenance if you did your own brakes for a good self check that you did everything right but something turned up unexpectedly.
