Hello,

A family member and a friend of mine each bought a new VUE. Both of them have had terrible noises coming from the fuel pump.
One is on their second fuel pump going on their third this week, and the other is on their second.
It get real noisey, can here it over the radio, just terrible. Then it may quiet down or stop, but then start again for hours or continuously.
Saturn said they have had a few now like this, no recalls or anything yet.
Has anyone else had this issue, any inside news from Saturn at all as to any recalls coming up?????

The Fuel pump should be electrical type, and it generates the sound loud enough even can hear with the radio? :whoa:

No matter how many new pumps they've got changing, if they are coming from the same noisy batch the outcome is always the same.

A noisy fuel pump....that's really the first weird issue to hear of.

I have heard it on one before. The VUE has 2 fuel pumps, because the fuel tank is basically cut in 1/2 by the driveshaft, one of the pumps pumps fuel to the other side.

I was always curious as to how that system worked in view of the split chambers in the lower part of the fuel tank. I thought someone had mentioned some sort of vaccuum unit as a scavenger pump. If so, this is complicating the h*** out of what should be a fairly simple affair, and I question the long-term reliability.

Cripes!! I'd lemon law that thing and get another or a different type of vehicle. That is deplorable that Saturn would expect someone to keep a new vehicle with that significant of a problem.
