Hi, I'm new to the board and just (3 weeks ago) bought an 04, V6 Vue...Pretty much from when I purchased it the breaks were squealing, the dealer said it was because it had been sitting for a while and would go away, well now it's grinding, not at every stop but at least once a day...I brought it back in and they said the breaks and rooters were good "new"...I'm bringing it back in tomorrow to have them look at it again...Any ideas what else it could be if not the breaks?
Thank you!

what do you think is breaking? perhaps the brAKEs? if they say the brAKEs are good, then you should test drive it w/ them. maybe wheel bearings?

Yeah i agree wheel bearings can make a grinding noise or it could be your back brakes....

It could also be just overnight rust on the rotors. If you get it on the morning after a rain or heavy dew, and it goes away after a few stops, that's what it is. This is actually a good thing because it shows that there is no oil contamination in your brakes, and the rust tends to de-glaze the pads as they rub it off.
