My wife has an 04 V6 AWD VUE with 65,000 miles on it. It gets a combination of around town driving and long highway trips. It still rides pretty good but I know its not same as when new. I'm wondering how many more miles I might expect from the original struts and shocks? When are you guys replacing them? Are you replacing struts and shocks at the same time? Are there any other items that should/need to be replaced along with the struts or shocks?
I appreciate the feedback.
Thanks!

I have heard that strut and shock replacement should be done ever 50,000 miles.

When they start making noise, that's when I would replace them. Just my opinion. I will replace mine when they need it, not just because it has 69,000 miles on the odo.

Do the bounce test. Go on one corner of your VUE and get it bouncing, as soon as you release the VUE it should stop bouncing in less than one bounce. If it continues to move more, then it's strut time... The rear has shocks and should be easy to replace those. I'm thinking of air shocks. They were very sweet on the Suzuki XL7 I had last week.
