Hi guys, I just purchased a used 2005 Vue AWD with the Honda V6. Seems quite peppy for what it is, I just hope it gets decent mileage and treats me well (ie: no major issues/break downs).

I do not seem to have the dreaded swaybar link, strut noises or wheel bearing issue at this point in time (the links and 1 wheel bearing were actually replaced previously under warranty according to GM's service records).

I really like the ute so far but one thing that is kind of irritating me is the steering. There is a little rattle coming from the column when I rapidly shake the wheel back and forth about an inch or go over small wash board bumps. If the road is smooth there is no noise at all. I can duplicate it by shaking the wheel rapidly back and forth with the engine off.

I have read thru the forum and seem to have tracked this steering rattle issue down to either the EPS (really hope not because it is damn expensive if I had to fix it!) or the intermediate steering shaft.

Who has had this issue and what was done to fix it and make it go away? Is the EPS steering the same as the Torrent/Equinox?

The vehicle has 109,000 KM's or 68,000 miles. Any help, information, insight would be appreciated. Thanks
