I have an 06 3.5L V6 which of course has the honda engine. My stealership here has NO idea what I'm talking about if I ask them anything about it. They tried to sell me a filter for my tranny and regular atf, then argued with me when I told them I needed Z-1 and it doesn't have a replaceable filter.
So, my question is, we bought a magnefine filter to install. Are there any tips or tricks with people out there who have installed them already? We only saw 4-5" of rubber hose, so there's no real place to put them there. So where??? I really want to put the filter in so the tranny would have one.
Thanks!

i take mine to the honda dealership for maintnance.
saturn wanted 310$ for trans fluid change,,,honda was 80$ using the atf z1
I don't know anything about Magnefine, but generally the external filters are installed in by shoehorning them in between the transmission and the transmission cooler in the radiator by tapping into the cooling lines (which is why you've gotten rubber hose with your kit, I suspect).
Personally, I like the idea of a user serviceable external filter for the transmission (like my old SL/SC's).

Yes, I change the fluid myself, I'm not paying upwards of $100 (or $185 at Saturn :upset:) but I really would like to put in the external filter. Personally, a transmission really ought to have a serviceable filter just like your engine has an oil filter. Anywho, off my soap box.
I was hoping that anyone had any tips for putting the Magnefine filter in, or any external filter for that matter. The space to put them is, from what I can see, is only about six (workable) inches long, so maybe I could learn from what someone else has done?? Just looking for hints, but so far it looks like I'll just be changing my atf like I change my oil...
