Did you buy your current Saturn new or used? When did you buy it? What year and model is it?

I bought my current Saturn ('05 Ion2) used in October of last year with 28K miles and the balance of factory warranty. I traded my red '92 SC for it at a local dealership after it spit the diff. pin for the second time.

I bought my 2000 LS2 sedan used, but with only 8700 miles on it in 2000. It was practically new. It's been a great car and it is my second Saturn.

I bought my daughter a 98 SC2 5 speed coupe 3 years ago.
I feel in love with it and drove it whenever she was not in it.
Now she has it at college, but I love to drive it when she comes home to visit.
I wished I had started buying Saturns years earlier when they were still Saturns.
This little car is peppy, runs great and gets great mileage.
A tree recently fell on it during an ice storm, but this tough little car held up well enough for the insurance to rebuild it.

I bought my '08 Aura new. My soon to be ex wife got her '08 Vue new. Before that, I got my first Aura, an '07 new. She had an '05 Vue, also purchased new... '04 Ion RL was new, but didn't survive life very long.
The '95 and '99 SL2's were both used cars.

All of my Saturns have been used.
First came the white '95 SL1:
http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/data/500/thumbs/8086Ds2_0005.jpg (http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=11370)
Which was then traded for the silver '01 SC1, which I still miss dearly. I wish I could have kept it and bought the SC2 as well:
http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/data/547/thumbs/Traded_SC1_2.jpg (http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=32066)
Which was then traded for my current yellow '01 SC2:
http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/data/547/thumbs/Yellow_SC2_first_time2.jpg (http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=32068)
And I've owned the SC2 since September 19, 2006, and it's changed a bit since then. I'll hopefully keep this Saturn for a long time, but I'm looking at most likely purchasing another used S-series as a daily driver and keeping the yellow as my project/fun car.
There have been other Saturns in the mix, but those are the main ones. I should probably include the red and gray, which I bought from a member of this board on May 25, 2007. I was putting way too many miles on the car, so it's now my dad's car (Green93SL1 on these boards, he's mostly a lurker). He takes excellent care of the car, so don't worry, she's in good hands!

My 95 SL2 I bought from a private party used obviously. It was a California car, it had 125k on it when I bought it and is now approaching 174k! I lost the AC unit on it a few yrs ago and don't see the need to drop that kind of cash to replace it... and other than smoking a deer a few weeks ago it has been the best car I have owned to date!:)

My first-ever "brand new" car in my middle-aged life was a 1998 SL2. My current Saturn is a used 2004 Ion 3 which I bought (from the dealer) about a year-and-a-half ago and generally speaking, I'm happy with it. I hope to continue to drive my Ion until I run it into the ground.

I bought both of mine brand new, (and I still have both).
'97 SW2 - Drove right off the lot with maybe 8 miles on it. (90K later still have it)
'03 VUE - Factory ordered with the features I wanted. Drove it off with something like 4 miles on it. (The dealership moved down the street from the time of it's delivery to the store to my picking it up, plus it had to be driven off the truck :))

2 years ago, bought a 2002 Vue, used. 16 year old rolled it about 10 months later and walked away with a scratch on her elbow and a sore back. Have TWO teen drivers, promptly bought 2 more Vues. An 07 White Vue, barely used, and an 08 Black Vue new. Hope these 2 last a little longer! :)

I bought my first car, a blue 92 SL1, used on the 20th of September, 2004. After a few years, close to 40,000 miles, and a 10 day trip from Ohio to LA and back (5500 miles) one spring break two years ago, I now just drive it in the winter.
I bought (and picked up) my 2008 Sky Red Line (see avatar) on the 1st of November, 2007. I cant wait till spring since i only drove it for five weeks before it was locked up away from the salt coated streets of Toledo. But the first day it hits 60 (maybe 50 if i'm really impatient) that car is coming out to play.

2000 Saturn LS1, bought used in 2002 with 28000 miles. Now we have 126000 miles and she is still runnin' like a champ.
I had a 1994 SL2 which I bought new. I liked saving about $6,000 this time.
I wish I could get a SKY, but I have my eye on the Aura with leather seats (never had leather seats before).

Bought my 2004 Saturn Ion 3 SE from Saturn of Orchard Park (NY), this past July, 35,813 Miles.
I was going to buy a brand new ION 2, and then found my ion, which was much more loaded than the brand new one, and i got a pretty good deal on it.
My next Saturn will be an AURA, won't be brand new, but definitely almost new.. I'm looking for ~5k miles.

Bought my 95 SW2 back in 98 from a guy in town, it was parked on the corner with a for sale sign on it, 3 yrs old, 9500 miles...totalled in Sept 07 when it was t-boned by a GMC p/u, had about 93K on it...
Bought the 04 Vue used from Saturn of Brunswick in Oct 07...
Now I'm on the prowl for a SC2 manual with high miles that someones looking to dump for cheap because "it burns oil" and "the idle goes up and down all by itself" ;)

I won my 97 SC2 from a dealership in a neighboring town when they had a big sale. We registered for the sale got tickets for the mystery car and I won. I love it even though I still learning to drive it as I've only had automatic cars. I've had for about 3 weeks.:p

We bought our 94 SL1 in '96 with ~35k miles on it. 12 years later, we still have it with ~138k on it. The past several years it has been my main commuter vehicle, 300 miles a week. Still going (pretty) strong! 38 to 40 MPG. I hope to get 200k out of it.

I didnt buy my '99sl2...I traded a 96 Chevy S-10 ZR-2 with a blown T-case and 139000miles on it. I traded straight across for my 99 SL2 with 140000 miles on it. I needed an economy vehicle that I could pack my wife and kid (2yrs old) in and go where ever I please. The Saturn fit the bill. I didn't know much about saturn when I was considering the trade and I found this forum about 2 days before I made the deal. I read up on everything I could in the S-Series section-that's how I learned the difference between an SL1 & an SL2. I liked what I read about ease of repair and especially gas mileage. I made the deal and never looked back. I have had to do many minor repairs since then. All of them I could perform in my driveway with a metric ratchet set and a little elbow greece. I am happy with my Satty. I am considering finding a 97-99 SW2 for my wife and selling her Honda CRV. All hail Saturn!!

One of each here:
My first car was our 06 ION 2a QC ... financed it new at Saturn of Toledo in FEB06 when I moved here for a new job. Paid off in under 2 years, I plan to drive it until it won't go.
Our other car is a used 01 SL2a, also from SoT, we bought it for cash in FEB 07, and also plan to drive it into the ground.
I love the ION, but I'll never finance a car again. Our next car will be bought cash, be it new or used.

Saturn #5 was ordered (manuals are hard to come by otherwise) and I picked it up on 1/26/2006. It had 5 miles on it. There are ~31,800 miles on it at the moment.
Saturn #4 was new, and I picked it up on 11/17/2003. I remember it had 13 miles on the odometer. Problematic, I traded it with ~35,000 miles on it for #5.
Saturn #3 was a salesman's demo. It had ~5,200 miles on it when I got it on 1/3/1997. I drove it 'til about 125,000 miles after what I thought was a small coolant leak became more involved - requiring a new head gasket and a new radiator. I bought #4 shortly after this.
Saturn #2 was used. I bought it from a Ford dealer on 6/7/1993 with ~39,000 miles on it. I kept it 'til about ~94,000 miles when I bought #3.
Saturn #1 was new. I bought it on 4/1/1991 (no joke). I don't remember the mileage it had at delivery but I drove it 'til about 24,000 miles when I stupidly decided to move out of my parents' house after buying a my first brand-new car and making less than $10/hour. Ah, those were the days! I traded it in on a very crappy '87 Nissan Sentra E in October of '91. It would be eight months of purgatory in that car before I found Saturn #2.

I always buy new. That way I know exactly whats been done to my vehicle and what I can reasonably expect from her.

I bought my 98 SL2 in 2003 for a whopping 1500 bucks from my boss...U see my boss is a parish administrator at a church...and the saturn was donated to the church, at the time I needed a car for school and work so he said, "Hey I know you need a car so I'll sell you the saturn for 1500 bucks." I was iffy at first because the car was manual transmission, and i didn't not know how to drive manual...but i sure learned quick...at the time my car had 89,000 miles on it.:D:D:D

Saturn #1: 2001 SL2, 5-speed manual (gold - The Blonde Rocket) bought new May 21, 2001, with 41 original miles. It was a birthday present to me, from me. Traded in at 39,436 for Saturn #2.
Saturn #2: 2006 Vue Red Line, 5-speed automatic (Chili Pepper Red - Moose) bought new on June 28, 2006, with 63 original miles, 60 of which were my test drive. I was in for an oil change on The Blonde Rocket when a casual conversation with my sales consultant about 0% turned "deadly." Currently at 20,008 and running strong.

Bought all 3 Vue's we have/had, used at Saturn dealership. We have had 2- 2004, and 1- 2005 Vue.
Paid about $2000 - $3000 below advertised price. My newest one, 2004 Vue Redline AWD, lowered my payment, and still got a 3 year, 36K mile warranty. I traded a 2004 FWD V6 for it.

Here's my Saturn Story:
My father first bought a 1993 SL2 brand new in December 1992. At the time, I was in an 86 Chevette, which I wound up selling in early February 1997.
I started looking for something that was economical at the time and considered Geo Storms (yeah I know...insert bad Geo joke here), Hondas, and Saturns. I ruled out the Storm, because it was small and wasn't in production very long, Hondas were too expensive for me. So; I went with a Saturn.
Saturn #1:
My current 94 SC1 that I bought in Feb. 1997. It had 59,000 miles on it. Today it still has the original engine and original auto trans. I am at 334,700 miles. Purchased used.
Saturn #2:
Before my wife and I were married and dating, I had convinced my wife to purchase a 1992 SL1 "Blue". We owned that car from 2003-2005. We traded it in for Saturn #4. Purchased used.
Saturn #3:
The 1991 SC that I bought for $300 from a member on this board in 2005. Currently, the car is in my garage and is being rebuilt....one piece at a time, as I get the time to work on it. Purchased used.
Saturn #4:
Our beloved VUE that we got in March 2005. Sadly "Blue 2" met his fate with a construction tarp in March 2008, almost 3 years to the date that the VUE had rolled off the assembly line. On lease and we were going to buy out the lease. Sad that this VUE was totalled.
Saturn #5:
1994 SL2. I purchased this from a towing company in September 2007. The car had a few minor issues with it,but I got it running again; and it runs great. Getting ready this summer to install a new headliner and new sunroof materials. Purchased used.
Saturn #6:
1997 SW2. Purchased recently from Ftruscot. I flew to Boston and drove it home to Cincinnati. Car currently has 155K miles on it; but runs great aside from a few minor things that need to be fixed. This is the replacement for the VUE. Purchased used from the original owner.
For the future...I will probably stick with used S-Series, or used VUEs...depending on what I want or need :)

DArn I missed the poll. Both Ions we have we bought new. An 06 Ion 2 manual with only A/C, and then an 07 Ion 2 auto with the package with power windows and stuff. The 06 we got 4 years 0% and the 07 5 years 0%. Can't beat that. Just paying out the nose interest on everything else.

On our 6th Saturn. All new.
#1 98 SL2; Leased. Turned in at the end of lease for Saturn #3
#2 99 SC2; Leased. Turned in early for Saturn #4
#3 01 L200; Leased. Turned in and purchased 2004 Nissan Sentra because my wife didn't like anything Saturn had at the time.
#4 02 L200; Leased. Bought out of lease. Traded for Saturn #5
#5 07 Aura XE; Leased. Turned in early to buy # 6
#6 08 Astra XR; owned.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
