With the 2008 auto show season just getting underway with the start of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit... do you plan on going to an auto show this year? If so, which one?

Thanks,
Charlie

NAIAS....Jan 21. I always take a day off during the week to go and then a friend and I go back on a weekend day as well. Either way, you have to get there early to avoid the mob!! I would really like to go to the Chicago show since they have so much more space and well, Chicago is a much nicer city, but I'm stuck living near Detroit!

You mean THE Auto Show, right? That's what everyone I know has always called it. :arr: That's MLK day, right? I'm going on just a regular Wednesday. :)

The Chicago Auto Show, of course the best around!

We go every year have for about the last 5-6yr's. When i was younger i use to go with my Dad.Course i looked at everything. Now that im just about to be married and out on my own. It take's me about 2 hour's to get through it.

No sense looking at Vehicle's i'll never be able to afford. Concepts are always cool/Weird.

Already been to two. The San Francisco International Auto Show and the Silicon Valley Auto Show. We go to both every year.

We went to the Silicon Valley Show last thursday, the day it opened. Thats the day to go, not a lot of people, tons of parking and my son could play in the cars as long as he wanted.

And the best part. My son got to see Bumble Bee.

Probably will go to the DC show next week. Missed the last several years. I liked it better when they had the show on the week between Xmas and New Years.

New York - March 23, 2008. I wouldn't be shocked to see the next Nissan Maxima or '09 Acura TSX debut there. I'm also expecting GMX353 (aka the NG Buick LaCrosse) to figure prominently in new domestic vehicle debuts.

I'm going to the Chicago auto show. This will be the fifth time in the last six years I've went. The first time I went it was very overwhelming. I had never been to such a prestigious event in such a huge facility (the McCormick Building). It may sound funny to some, but opportunities to attend an event of this magnitude without having to plan a vacation for it are few and far between out here in Iowa.

I just can't bring myself to pay to go to the STL show. I went for a few years at my old job to work the booth, and would go early or stay late & walk around. Compared to Chicago, the STL show is a joke.

This year's big "concept car?" The Camaro. and it won't even be there for the first few days.

And when I go to Chicago, I can bring home some good pizza.

Correction. The NY show is March 21-30. I usually go on the first Saturday but I hope to get some time off from work and attend during the week when it's less chaotic.

I went to the NAIAS today! I took somewhere around 200 pics. That Saturn Flextreme concept was awesome! Still a little goofy looking in the front, but there was so much more to it that GM didn't even touch on in the press conference on it. I'll have the pics and a write up on it and the impressions of the other cars tomorrow sometime. Oh and I was bummed that the Opel Corsa was up on a platorm and you couldn't get all touchy feely with it. :( And BMW had all their cars locked this year

you got hosed, eh. BMW was unlocked when I was there on Monday. I sat in a 1-series coupe [135i] and made car noises "vroom vroom" while dry shifting it and working the pedals. the Flextreme was goofy with those Segways in back. the Corsa looked like a 7/8th scale Astra :) The Saturn reps wouldn't confirm or deny that Saturn would get the Corsa... one said it might be a Chevy :hmm:

i always go to our auto shows & the auto-rama (old cars) even though i have no intend to buy a new car i like to see the new technology out there. i also attend the motorcycle shows here. our shows are in the winter in March here in Cleveland, OHIO. it's nice to get out after hibernating in the house for the winter months....
