With the arrival of the all-new Astra, Saturn has a completely revitalized lineup. Now the brand needs to get the word out to let the world know. Where do you think should Saturn spend most of its advertising budget in 2008? Why?

Thanks,
Charlie

i never reallyknew about saturn until i turned 16 and needed a car-they would be much better off on tv allowing more people to get in the know.

other -- Saturn should do more test drive events. Better yet bring an Astra 3-door XR to Detroit SCCA Solo events so we can see how it handles pylons.

While I think TV will get to the most people I was on travel in NJ and they had the Aura in a mall and a bunch of people were sitting in it and looking at it. Some lady was there to answer questions with no sales pitch and I heard a lot of good comments about the car. Maybe getting it in malls, fairs, sporting events etc... might be a cheap way to advertise it also.

Other - Buying a Saturn used to be more of a cerebral thing, use those dollars to improve the product/up fuel economy.

Any media is fine, as long as it's purpose is to re-introduce the S-series.

Hey, it could happen....or not.

Saturn needs a media mix--TV, Radio, Newspapers, direct mail and the internet.

The average consumer is bombarded with advertising messages from the time he/she wakes up until they close their eyes at night.

Therefore Saturn should not put all their eggs in one basket and so too with advertising--they should be everywhere, constantly and consistently.

If they want to sell millions of cars they have to invest in millions in a media mix--$50 Million should do it.

I voted other because I too want to see a balanced mix that allows for demographic and other differences. For example while newspaper ads might be effective in certain circumstances, they might be a waste of money if people in Saturn's demographic targets don't read newspapers in a particular area. I believe the spending of advertising dollars need to be allocated in a far more sophisticated manner than choosing one primary form of media.

So far I've seen three(3) Astra billboards. One on the way home and two on the way to work. When I saw the first one, I actually made a U turn and went back then made another U turn to make sure I wasn't imaging things.

Racing, Racing, Racing.

Make a Roadster cup, with the Sky and Soltice. Simular to the MX-5 cup only allow the turbo and non-turbo cars, use tire size retrictions to keep the 2 cars equal.

I think the question pre suposes a media mix with the biggest spending concentrated where? My vote was Television but with high quality spots.

I am a great believer in hands on, live, touch, feel and drive, mall kind of promotions. They can be very effective if done properly, in short by factory sales promotion profesionals. It's amazing how badly retailers can mess up live sales promotions.:us:

I agree with Cloud819. GO RACING in the ALMS GT2 with the Sky.
