Hey everyone. I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem with their Vues. I have an 04 Redline, all stock. When I am in a parking lot, or turning a corner at slow speeds, I hear a grinding noise that seems to come from underneath almost like its in the rear of the vehicle. It can be heard up front too.

While the Vue was up on a rack I turned the front tires all the way left and right and spun them. I didnt hear or feel any grinding. The vehicle was turned off also.

And even stranger...the grinding doesnt always happen. It is very random. And the wheels might not be turned all the way left or right.

I recently changed tire sizes from stock 245/50-18 to 225/55-28 the noise was happening BEFORE I switched sizes so Im assuming its not the tires.

So I am clueless. I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem before I run to a shop. I have a baby on the way and a new house payment...lol

Thanks everyone for reading. I appreciate it.

Is it AWD? The RDM can growl on tight turns. It may need repair/replacement or at least a fluid change.

There was a recall on the RDM, too. Ever have it checked out to see if any open recalls haven't been done yet? Free fix!

Also the front end creaking could be from the front sway bar links. Lots of issues with them.

The Rear Drive Module (RDM) on some 2004 Saturn VUE vehicles equipped with a 3.5L V6 (L66) engine and all-wheel drive may exhibit a condition where the owner may notice a moan or vibration noise emanating from the rear of the vehicle when turning at low speeds (such as parking lot maneuvers and/or surfaces like snow and gravel).

Hey again. I am going to say that is the noise im hearing. It is an AWD and that accurately describes my RLs symptoms. Do I just take a trip to my local dealer? I am unfortunately not under a warranty anymore, will I have to pay for it to be fixed?? Thanks for the help you all. It is rather embarassing when parking. lol
