Hello All,

Now that the cold weather has finally blown in to New Jersey I've got an interesting noise - passenger side front:

It sounds like golf balls in a coffee can, but only for the first couple of miles and then it goes away. Won't happen again until the following morning or if the car sits all day and then I drive it at night. Strange how it goes away after a couple of miles. Doesn't happen when I hit bumps, even on smooth road and you can't hear it until you hit about 30 MPH. Once it goes away, you don't hear it at any speed...Maybe someone out there has had the same experience or has seen it...

04 Vue 4cyl, 5 speed, 40K miles

Any thoughts??

Thanks,
John

I started mine up this morning and it made noises that I have never heard before. It was 6 degrees out, but once it was warmed up, it was fine. I think it is just the cold and nothing to worry about.

I was wondering if it might be from the caliper pins/bushings. Just for grins during lunch I tried to wiggle the caliper with the wheel still installed and I was able to make it clunk on the passenger side much more than on the drivers side. I wonder if this might be the source of the noise????I won't have time to pull the wheel until the weekend...

Hopefully the techs here have seen this before....somehow I'm sure I'm not the 1st...
