Anyone have a good online source for Z1 ATF? Lowest price in my town is 8.95 per quart! ouch.

Thanks, I do not know how I missed that. Under 5 bucks is a steal for that stuff.

although the 55 bucks shipping their website tallied for 6 quarts didn't seem so good..........:hmm:

hondadirect on ebay is about 7 bucks / quart with shipping per dozen

I've been able to purchase it over the counter at a (Honda) dealer for about 5bucks per which is still grossly overpriced for a mediocre petro based fluid.

I thought that too at first. Their default price is 55 or so until you put in your zip code, then it is dramatically lowered when you check out. I got 24 quarts (48 lb shipping weight) shipped from Keena in PA to Wisconsin for 18 bucks. Not too bad at all! Try putting your zip code in and you'll see the shipping charge change. Below is my receipt reflecting the shipping charge. I couldn't find the Z1 fluid cheaper than that anywhere else I have looked.

thanks for the follow-up
I've seen folks on other forums using alternate fluids like Amsoil and Valvoline which have good reports, but I'm reluctant to use anything other than the Honda spec, even if I think it is overpriced.

I'm hoping the lighter weight of the Vue will give us improved trans life vs the Pilot and Odyssey.

I am hoping that the trans lasts the 200K I want to keep this VUE for. I won't be towing much except one ATV and a 14' aluminum boat/motor.

If it does have problems it won't be because of driving habits or not keeping fresh ATF in it.

I am still getting used to the Vue's shift points and a little quirkiness from time to time. I wish that you didn't have to get to 49-50mph for her to kick down to 1500 rpm. It encourages me to speed so I can get her to kick down.

I don't think very many Honda auto transmissions make it to 200k if they have a trailer hitch in back.
However there are now millions of these 5 speeds on the road in V6 vans and SUVs, so rebuilt units and parts will be plentiful.
