I have a 2.2L 2003 Manual Vue. I have the Service Engine Soon (SES) light on. I've had 2 auto-parts store check for codes and both got "No Codes Found". A co-worker of mine is in possession of a actron SUPER AutoScanner CP9145. It also to got "No Codes Found", however with this model scanner I was able to view the "FREEZE DATA" a snapshot of the last code seen. The "FREEZE DATA" indicated that the last code was a P0172 with the following readings:
ENGINE(RPM) 2510
CALC LOAD(%) 39.6
MAP("HG) 12.7
COOLANT 185
LT FTRM1(%) -12.5
ST FTRM1(%) 5.5
VEH SPEED(MPH) 56
FUEL SYS1 CLSD
FUEL SYS2 N/A

I have read on other posts in the forum about the P1072 that this is a Too Rich Fuel Code and ways to correct it.

My question is what can I do to clear the SES?

Thanks in Advance

More info. I was being rushed by the boss a.k.a. the Wifey

This Scanner has a function to Erase the Data and clear the SES light, but I really don't want to do that and loose the diagnostic data.

Any ideas on what to check or how to clear the SES would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance again,
Staleek

You need a better scanner. The code may be enhanced that won't show up on the cheap scanner. Also, the freeze frame data is rather incomplete. The list of sensor data is much bigger than what you're showing. And there's nothing in that data that indicates a rich condition. You LTFT has to generally go beyond + or - 20 percent to trigger the code.

It is always best not to clear current, pending, or history codes, or freeze frame data. This is valuable diagnostics information that will help in repairing the vehicle.
