Chrome roof rails question

Can the end caps of the roof rails be taken off? Asking bc somehow one of mine got pretty badly scratched and I'd like to replace it. If they can come off how do you go about doing it?

The end caps just snap into place. Hold the end cap by the sides and press inward and wiggle a bit while pulling out. The cap should just snap out of rack.
