Leave it in gear longer.
Build a custom turbo kit.
I'll be back with more later......

Trade up for a V6?
Do you rev the motor out to redline when trying to go fast?

How much WEIGHT are you carrying around? (And how big a bulldozer are you towing) While far from a drag racer, the 4 cylinder is no slouch....and I am not complaining about the 26.5 mpg average (80% city) I am getting this summer...

My Vue goes just fine, but then I am used to a 123 HP, 4000 pound pickup truck. The 2.2 engine is used in the Chevrolet Cobalt, so it has lots of after market parts. Start by checking Cobalt forums and websites.
I typed "Chevy Cobalt performance parts" in Google and it came back with 262,000 hits.
Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

Hahaha. That's funny. :|
I have the 06 auto, and it gets out of its way very well...I guess it depends on what you put in it, me being the sole occupant.
There is an Ecotec forum out there that talks about increasing hp...the engine is used in many other models (its called the Global Four). You have the lightest Vue at 3300lbs or so.....

Here is the website for SPS. They claim to be the "World specialist in Saturn Performance." Maybe someone else here has used them? You could try the "Mods" section, or the Ion or S-series forums.

SPS used to be the "World specialist in Saturn Performance", but I'm not sure the owner is even pursueing new products. I think he's just hoping to sell off what inventory he does have.
I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them when I had my S-series. To get performance parts for the ecotec VUE, you'll have to cruise the jbody forums and see what they're using.

I'm looking at this also. So far I will be looking at a header from ion or cavalier (fitment tbd), a monster flow intake with heatshield, and maybe a 2.4L intake manifold and throttle body. take a good look at the ecotec forum, there is alot that can be done.

thanks. please let me know how it turns out when you are done. also i have been looking for a cold air intake for it but came up with nothing, only found them for the vue with the 6 cyl.

As far as the cold air intake goes, you'll have to build your own.

Fujita makes an intake for the Vue 2.2L.

But I have to agree with Tom, better value to build your own. If you buy the fujita, I would get some header wrap and wrap it to keep heatsoak down. And get some lexan to make a heat shield...
I have some ABS pipe , elbows and fitting with my name on it :)
That's if I can't fit my Monster Flow Cone filter in the Airbox. With a little modding and a cold air intake in the bumber, that would be ideal. I would also be deleting the bong...

The AEM CAI for the ION will fit also with some "bending" of the mounting bracket. I have one in mine. The filter sits behind the foglight hole in the bumper. It sounds really good. I cant help but to wind it to hear it BAWL at about 5k RPM.

Did you not test drive the vehicle? It took you 7000 miles to figure out it doesn't have enough power for you??? You have to wind it out a little, trust me, there's plenty of giddy-up there.

I may be getting this pretty soon (as soon as they have a 2007 model available) :

Not sure if this one will fit
http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_ion/products1.php?id=543
The advantage will this is they are bolt on. This one (tsudo ecotec header)pic) may be a bit better in the midrange, but you will need some exhaust work to bolt it up.
