My 2004 VUE only came with one key and one FOB (remote keyless entry transmitter). Okay, I can get more keys at a Saturn dealership and they can make them given just the VIN. I searched and found out we can have up to 4 of these FOBs, and they need to be brought to a Saturn dealership to get the VUE programmed to work with them. I'm guessing these cost a lot at the Saturn dealerships. I see them on eBay for less than $20. On the back of mine it says part number 15186203 and FCC ID code LHJ011. Should I look for an additional FOB with the same part number and the same FCC ID code as the FOB I already have? Or should I look for an additional FOB with a different but similar part number (such as 15186202 or 15186201 or 15186200) and the same FCC ID code? Or should I look for an additional FOB with the same part number but different FCC ID code?Could anybody with more than 1 FOB please tell me how the part numbers and FCC ID codes compare against each other...? Thanks in advance!

My two fobs are exactly the same. The one I use everyday does have a Disneyland 50th Anniversary keychain attached to it......:)
Seriously, I believe whatever you get elsewhere, will still require a Saturn dealer to program. Sort of like an unlocked cell phone requires Verizon, or whoever to program the phone in order to use it.

My two fobs share the same numbers as well.
I wonder what it takes to program them?
I'd like to have another myself.
Good Luck

California passed a law that requires auto makers to make codes available to locksmiths. It takes effect January 1, 2008. This doesn't help your situation, but at least there is an awareness of the problem of programming ever more complicated alarms and keys.
Car-Key Replacement
SB 1542, sponsored by the Auto Club, will make it easier for vehicle owners whose keys are lost, stolen, or broken to obtain replacement keys. This law takes effect January 1, 2008 and it requires an automaker to provide the codes necessary for a locksmith to make a replacement key for vehicles sold or leased in California. Some auto manufacturers, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, will have until 2013 to comply with the new law if they currently allow no one but themselves to duplicate a key.

I bought an extra FOB for my '04 Vue about 6 months ago on ebay. The one I purchased said it was for the Equinox and/or the '04 or later Vue. The remote I was sent by the seller has a different part number than the two that originally came with my Vue, but the FCC ID matches on all three. I took it to my dealer and they reprogrammed it in about 15 minutes for free:D
