I have a 06 vue that does NOT have factory installed fog lights. I managed to get my hands on a set of fogs, with the plugs, chrome trim and the switch with the plug as well. Anyone tell me how to wire these things up? I dont think that the switch is a simple on/off switch. Any suggestions would be great!!

I did see that thread but he mentioned nothing about the factory fog switch.

For his wiring he just bypassed the switch, the factory switch should be just a simple on/off switch that goes in-line with it. He did mention something about it being controlled in the BCM though. I guess the question is, why do you really need a switch?

I put on AFM fog lamps as the OEM solution requires a special relay for the switch (It isn't a simple on/off switch – discussed a while back). Plus, the price for the whole package was exorbitant. I looked into it a while back, and the OEM switch was the problem. If you managed to get the fused relay that plugs into the under hood fuse box, you might be able to hook it up. You’ll need a wiring schematic…haven’t seen one around for the OEM fog lamps…. Personally, I’d just use the OEM fog lamps/housing you have, and buy a standard relay and switch….if you can, go to a store that sells AFM fog lamps and take a look at their wiring diagrams….

I want to use the switch so that I do not HAVE to have the fogs on all the time. I would like to use the factory switch in this case because 1; I want to fill that little caped off spot just below the center vents and 2; I dont want to have a cheap aftermarket switch that is visable. Even if I mount it under the dash or in a conceled area, I dont want to have to go trying to find the switch every time I want the fogs on. I guess Im just picky that way.
