View Full Version : Best all around replacement tire
Rather than search through the forums. Can someone suggest the best all around tire for an 06 Vue AWD 6cyl w/17 inch tires. I am looking for a smooth quiet ride we do a small amount of snow driving then head south for the winter. Ride and handling is most important price is secondary. Any help would be appreciated

I would recommend Yokohama AVID TRZ 225/60/17. I put a set of them on my Vue GL. The ride and handling difference is unbelievable. Wet and dry traction is out standing.

The 17's throw a monkey wrench into things. There are many SUV's that have 17's and they all come with the lousy Duellers. The recommended tire in my area is the Cooper Lifeliner Touring that is rated well for all weather driving. I got mine through a friend who sells tires as a side job. With mounting, balancing, etc. they were $135 each.

I also used the Coopers on my 03 Vue when I replaced my Duelers. Must of had a bad set of Duelers as I got around 45,000 on them when I replaced them. Also did a four wheel alignment at the same time. The difference in the ride was remarkable. It was much quieter and seemed to handle a lot better. They were still running great when I traded in the 03 on an 06 at 67,000 miles. Go with the Coopers.
