Tug Boat sound when stopping

Yesterday, When slowing to a stop the car started to make a tugboat sound (ABS-like). and the pedal pulsated only for the last 5mph of the stop. My thought is the ABS sensor is going. Any other ideas?

You are right. You have a dying wheel speed sensor, and there should be codes stored. If no codes, need a scan tool to determine which wheel is dropping out.

I've had this happen twice. The service manager plugged in his scanner and we went for a short drive. In my case it was the right rear. As we came to a stop the wheel speed dropped to zero at 10km/hr. while the others didn't. This activated the ABS.
