As the title states...my Honda-V6 Vue has ONE distinct "pop" noise coming from the front end/engine compartment just as the engine starts. Otherwise engine starts normally and runs fine.

Anyone have any idea when is causing this noise? I'm thinking a hose connecton has come loose but I am unable to locate...but the noise is bothersome. I hear it even when all the windows are closed.

I am out in the country by myself so I can not easily have someone else start car while I have hood open and try to locate noise. Are there any specific hoses or valve I should be checking. I have checked airbox and all is closed and latched correctly.

Signed, I like my Vue...just don't like it's farts! :hmm:

Turn the AC completely off (turn the fan off) and check top see if it is still doing it. It may just be the AC compressor coming on.

It is the ABS pump doing a test cycle, or the A/C clutch as previously stated.

Nothing is wrong.

Thanks for the quick replies! This is much more of a pressurized air noise...a distinct "pop" sound just as the engine starts.

I just checked...it is heard whether the AC compressor is active or not. Brakes work fine...no warning lights stay on after start-up.

I think this is more of a loose hose connection or some type of malfunctioning valve used in the intake/emissions system.

Anyone familiar with the emissions systems on these V6 Vues? Which hoses are pressurized at start-up? Vue is stock...no CAI or even a K&N filter.

Any other ideas?

Mine makes a similar noise when i first start it up, put it in gear and start driving. It's the ABS system doing a self-test and is normal.
