On some cars there is a large fuse between the alternator and battery. I know it was hidden on my former car. See if the Vue has an inline fuse somewhere. That may be your problem.

Does your electrical system still keep the battery charged? If not Id have to question the replacement alternator (I have seen my share of defective rebuilds).

Yes - I'm measuring 14.5 V at the battery terminals. New fancy battery charger is saying Battery and Alternator are 100%.

Do you have a OBDII reader that can plug into a computer and give you live readings? If not, that's a great tool to have in times like these. You can see live stats the way the car's computer sees them and it gives you a much better idea of what's going on. I use the AutoTap, but there are several good ones out there for $150+.

No I don't, but I might start shopping for one. Btw - besides my "Battery" light, I also have an "ABS" light. Neither of these are turning on my SES or Service (Wrench) lights. Will an OBDII reader still give me info on these lights even if they don't set SES codes?

I am not sure if it will but you can get it scanned for free as places like auto Zone or advance auto. At lease try that first.

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I still had a Battery Light after installing the new alternator, I went back to AutoZone with the core. They tested that and said the voltage regulator was bad. At this time I also had an SES light, so when they hooked up their Scan Tool it was showing "System Voltage Low". Apparently this was a left-over code, because the SES light went out after driving a few more miles.
