Quote from above article has the i4, "Mileage is an acceptable, though far from compelling 19 City and 26 Highway with the four-cylinder front-driver "
The 07 is what? 23/29?

07 FWD 4 automatic is 22/27 and has 142HP
By 08 standards it would have been 20/28 according to fueleconomy.gov. Interesting that the HWY went up with the new test on the old engine.
Not only can you not compare the 07/08 ratings, you can't compare the 07/08 4-cylinder VUEs as they are a different engine (2.4L with 169HP) and ~500lbs different.
You have the next week to decide whether to get the best of the old tech or the first of the new tech.
edit: The Car Connection shows ratings for an AWD 4-cylinder and warranty 5/60 powertrain. 4-cylinder is FWD only and powertrain remains at 5/100.

I was aware they had different sized Ecotecs....
Of course I can compare 06/07 2.2l Vue vs 08 2.4l Vue.....!That's the fun in life, comparing old with new...so what if the new is 500lbs heavier and gets worse gas mileage...
One theme that is quite apparent is the critics obligatory thrashing of the old Vue to highlight how well the new one is....Although, I have yet to drive one (just got up close), I am guessing it drives a lot better, even with a 500lb weight gain...I didn't buy mine for canyon carving...just a cozy A to B car with room to pile stuff in....While the critics say they got the coziness part figured out, they didn't make it more efficient....
I do hope it sells, for Saturn's sake....:)

This review sounded very similar to the others. Consistency is good thing. They liked the styling. Similar complaints about the 6T70 automatic, possibly it's behavior will adapt itself to the driver and smooth out.
It did make positive mention of the handling. I suspect the ride will be a little stiffer. Like the Aura XR's suspension tuning compared to the Aura XE's.
Until the clearance sale is over on the 07 VUE's, we won't have any valid sales reports... Optimistically, I still predict 4k sold on a good month.

Optimistically, I still predict 4k sold on a good month.I'm predicting double that, which should better the old VUE. With the exception of the two sales spikes per year, the old VUE didn't sell that much better than the AURA is.
