Saturn Fans Rally to Save Brand with Petition to GM

Scott Evans from Motor Trend: When General Motors' long-term viability plan became public last week, fans of Saab, Pontiac and Saturn were a bit riled. They had good reason. GM's plan called for the company to sell Saab, drastically cut Pontiac's line-up and "accelerate discussions with the Saturn retailers, consistent with their unique relationship, to explore alternatives for the Saturn brand." Most have taken this to mean that Saturn will be closed, and those fears were exacerbated by reports that GM had cut development funding for Saturn. Now, Saturn owners are fighting back.

Aura Concept Unveiled to Workers at Fairfax Plant

Even though production of Saturn Aura sedan isn't scheduled to start until the summer of 2006, the company unveiled a concept version of the car to UAW workers at General Motors' Fairfax, Kansas assembly plant yesterday. Reaction to the new model was very positive. "We're excited about it," Dave Peterson, president of United Auto Workers Local 31, told the Associated Press.
