GM Seeking Out Companies to Purchase Saturn?

The Economic Times is reporting that bankers representing General Motors have approached more than a dozen firms about purchasing Saturn. Two of the firms that were reportedly on their list were Indian based automobile companies, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors. No other information was given. However, writers for the Economic Times surmised that Tata Motors may not be financially able to buy another brand after acquiring Jaguar/ Land Rover from Ford last year.

Bob Lutz to Retire at the End of 2009

Robert A. Lutz, GM Vice Chairman – Global Product Development, will transition to a new role effective April 1, 2009 as Vice Chairman and Senior Advisor. Lutz, 77, will provide strategic input into GM's global design and key product initiatives until his retirement at the end of 2009. He will continue to report to Wagoner.
