Description:

I am selling my 1999 Saturn SL-1 Automatic. This car has about 116,000 miles on it. I have been recording the fuel consumption on nearly every fill up, and this car has never done less than 30 mpg city. On highway trips I averaged between 36 and 40 mpg! Not only a fuel-saver, this Saturn is also very reliable. This car has a new battery, new front tires (all seasons all around), relatively new belts, and plenty of miles left on the brakes. It has exemplary service records, as both myself and previous owners have changed the oil every 3,000 miles. The drivetrain is on this vehicle is solid. The transmission fluid has been flushed in the past 6 months. The tranny shifts smoothly. Everything on the vehicle is in proper working order. The A/C blows cold, the heater blows warm. My reason for selling is because I need a larger sedan with power locks to use for work.
Condition - Exterior:
All panels are in good condition. No dents, no major dings. The paint is in very good shape, only a few small scratches here and there, but very minimal for the amount of miles on the car. All glass is in good shape - there is a small rock-chip in the windshield, which has been treated so it will not spread.
Condition - Interior:
All interior trim is in good shape. There are no major tears in the upholstery, however the vinyl on the side of the driver's seat is cracking. All buttons are in proper working order, the AM/FM stereo/cassette works perfectly. All windows/door handles operate smoothly. The trunk is clean, fabric is good, and the spare-tire / jack / lug wrench are all functional.
Condition - Mechanical:
Engine: very good. Brakes: very good (master cylinder was replaced around 100k). Transmission: very good. Battery: Excellent. Radiator: very good. Hoses: very good. Intake: excellent (new air filter). Steering: very good. Suspension: good.
I am selling the car for $2750. This is well below blue-book value (over $3300 private party value).
Some other things to note about the SL-1: It is very easy to work on. Many simple wear-and-tear repairs I was able to do myself for a significant cost savings. I replaced the oxygen sensor for $19.99 and about 10 minutes of work. Bulbs are easy to replace. The true cost-to-own of this vehicle is very low. The plastic body panels are dent and rust resistant and very inexpensive. The car is very lightweight, so it handles quite well, and it has decent pep even with the fuel-efficient engine. It's very sure-footed in all types of weather, and it does quite well in the snow.
To contact me, send an email or call 631-680-7210. I will accept paypal, but we need to set this up separately.
