Custom subwoofer boxes and subs for a first gen SC. Might fit others, but I don't have other cars to test fit them in. They're about .5 cubic feet each with a bit of polyfill inside which is enough for the 308's.
The Boxes: .5 cubic feet, 5/8in particle board, TONS of screws, sealed w/ Liquid nails. These are HEAVY and nearly indestructible. When I was rear ended a couple years ago, my unibody was bent and the trunk was bashed beyond repair BUT these things survived without a hint of stress. It wasn't easy to pry the back of the car off from around them! They fit inside the trunk sides and are held in by friction, but it may be a good idea to lock them down in a tighter method for bumps in the road. The carpeting does not cover the entire box, but a roll of carpet is cheap from walmart and I'd be happy to do the labor if I were handed the carpet. It's extremely easy and quick to do.
The subs: a/d/s/ 308rs. I have the spec sheet around somewhere, but they're DVC 8" woofers that handle 200w RMS PER COIL. Yes, a pair of 8" that can handle 800w RMS (1600w max). The subs are in perfect working condition, but there is a small scratch on the rubber surround of one of them and the mounting rings are pretty scratched. I've only driven them with Altec Lansing (briefly, 160w RMS total) and an a/d/s/ P2110.2 (years, 370w RMS total) amplifiers. They sound AMAZING. I listen to mostly rock music with a bit of dance/trance occasionally. These are fast, accurate, clean-sounding drivers.
Why am I selling these? Weight, mostly. I want a lighter, quicker vehicle. The other reason is that I'm putting together the parts for a CarPC, and I need to sell these to have funds to continue with that project.
Shipping? Easy answer is no. At least not UPS/FedEx. If you want just the subs, maybe. I live in Atlanta, GA, but can deliver them for around the price of gas to a couple hundred miles away on a weekend. I drive to Gainesville, FL, and St. Louis, MO, a couple times a year also and can meet people near those places or along the way.
These subs ran $200/each new. High-res photos available upon request. There are a couple photos in my gallery, but for some odd reason I can't upload photos to the classifieds at the moment.
