The good: This car served me well since I bought it new and put just over 200k on it. Only time it let me down was when I was on my way to put a deposit on a new Audi and the catalytic clogged up. Shortly after I ordered and installed a new SPS catback system and OEM catalytic ($400 just for that!). Also installed a new O2 sensor (but haven't figured out how to reset the light.) tExhaust has no more than 1k on it. I have had this car on the road in a few years but it starts right up on the first crank every time. Power windows, locks, belts, radio and all still work. A/C still blows cold. Except for a scratch on the passenger door, the body is in excellent shape, no dents or dings or cracks. Since parking it I have changed the oil several times just to keep things moving.
The bad: As I said the car has been sitting, so one of the pulleys, I think the tensioner, is now squealing. The timing chain could stand to be serviced as its starting to make noise. To make it road worthy the brake system needs to be flushed and I would recommend new rotors and pads all around. The windshield has a crack and depending on state (or how friendly you are with your inspector) might not pass inspection. Lastly, I believe the coolant overflow tank is leaking. Coolant is disappearing, but having done fluid changes I know its not going into the oil of engine.
Car is located in the most northern part of Virginia (20180). Would make a great beater, commuter, or high schoolers first car. I had intended to get it going again for commuting, but just haven't had the time or resources to put to it with all my other projects and hobbies.
Please feel free to email at thebluedog(at)gmail.com for more info or to arrange to check it out. Wife wants to sell it soon and start getting rid of all the stuff I have piling up.
