Description: I have a 1998 SL2 5 speed that I'm selling for parts. The car was in great shape until a few days ago when I t-boned a deer. The hood, bumper cover, right front fender, cross braces, radiator, condensor and possibly some lines were all damaged. The car still cranks and runs but I shut it down immediately after impact to keep from overheating the engine. The engine has just over 127k miles on it. Car ran like a dream. I installed factory cruise control on it and also put new tires on within the last year. The interior is in great shape with the exception of the sun visors and and the sunroof (motor is stripped out). I'm debating on whether or not to fix this myself as I know of a donor car that I can rob parts from but I really don't have the time to work on it. If anyone here is interested, shoot me an offer. Description: Up for sale is a 1997 Saturn SC2 2-door coupe, 187,xxx miles, Tan color, manual transmission, cruise control. Comes with all new tires, factory rims, and a full spare (also with factory rim) - 5 tires total! Spent most of its life in South Carolina, clean carfax no accidents, NO RUST at all except a tiny bit on the exhaust. If you got a rusty-bucket saturn and need a new body, THIS IS YOUR CAR! Transmission works pretty well, is pretty fun to drive! I bought this locally off CL as a backup car and to teach my wife stick. I'm selling because I finally bought a newer car so now I don't need an old car as backup for my old truck I was driving. The previous owner bought it from another local resident and was selling it because they needed another car and his pregnant wife didn't know stick shift. He was some sort of mechanic and did a bunch of work to the car, however, there are some issues (some that I was aware of and some that I wasn't aware of). The car drives and runs fine in spite of its issues, which is why I jumped on it. - The interior is pretty rough, I scrubbed this car clean for 2 days, ozonated it, etc. so it's much better now, but it has crappy ceiling and visors most notibly. - The windshield wiper toggle doesn't work so they ghetto fixed it with a toggle switch which does work - I took out the stereo with intentions of putting a better one in, I have a dash kit, wiring kit, etc hooked up, but since I'm selling it, I figure you can decide if you want the factory stereo or use the kits to put in a better one. Don't know if the original stereo worked as I think it locked from disconnecting the battery. - The rear defrost doesnt work, maybe just a loose wire? - The drivers side automatic window does sort of work, but stops working quickly afterward. I'm pretty sure it needs a new motor (passenger side works flawlessly) - The door locks do work, sort of, but the drivers side needs a new switch, and I only know they work because they lock when I disconnect/reconnect the battery - There is a small battery drain which I assume has to do with the door locks but who knows. I don't drive it often so I leave it disconnected, if you drive it every day then it really doesn't matter - The thing that I got burned on not knowing when I purchased was the car drives quite well, but my local shop did a compression test based on a check engine light issue and one cylinder has low compression, they suspect possibly a burnt valve and, for the money, engine replacement is the best option to have it get the mileage it's supposed to. At worst, the engine might ruin the catalytic converter, but in a no-inspection state (if you're from michigan), that doesn't matter that much as you can just punch it out if it clogs (and get better mileage lol). Obviously the engine isn't supposed to run like this and failure could happen, but it hasn't been running rough for me or gave me any indications it is going to. Seeing what best offer is, buyer to arrange for transportation of vehicle. Is currently able to be driven to wherever, so keep that in mind. Feel free to ask questions, photos coming soon.

I was browsing the forum and it seems that replacing the reverse nut and or valve body usually fixes the problem. Description: 1998 SC2. All black with every factory option. 71,000 original miles. We bought this car in 1999 with 11,000 miles and we have had zero trouble with it. All regular maitanace was done by Saturn. Never any damage of any kind. No paint work or accidents. Hadent failed us once. Cad looks new from ten feet away. The spoiler clear coat is chipping. The leather front seats are flaking on the outside bolsters. Back seat hardly ever used. The sunroof hasent been used in 14 years and is slow to close. Newer Goodyear Primium tires. New battery, muffler. Ready to enjoy. We are both retired and have a new Prius and Cadillac so must part with one. It's a great trouble free dependable car. We had 9 Saturns in our family. Description: 1997 Saturn SL2, 1.9 dohc, 158k miles, automatic. This car was NOT in an accident. I bought it last Dec., intending to get it registered and on the road. I then had an accident with my SW2 wagon. I put the door, bumper and fender from the sl2 onto the sw2 and the damaged pieces onto the sl2. I never did register it. I have the registration and bill of sale from the person I bought it from. The bad: needs driver's door (good glass), driver's mirror, front bumper skin, left front fender (not critical), water pump and flex pipe repair. The good: everything else. Fine interior. The engine runs fine; trans is smooth-NO SLAM! Excellent ac/heat, suspension and electrics.Tires are fair. Can be easily fixed up and on the road, or used for parts. You can make a decent profit on the parts. I would, but I have no place to part it out. Needs to be sold whole and out of my driveway. Can be driven as is.
