Saturn Announces Upcoming Performance Line

Answering the performance desires of customers, Saturn is developing a series of performance vehicles and released an artist's conceptual rendering of a specially modified Ion quad coupe at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas with production slated for 2004.

Suzuki Has No Plans for a Vue-based SUV


There has been a lot of discussion at lately about the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox � Chevy's polymer-clad version of the Saturn Vue. A few weeks ago, GM said that the Equinox would be built at its Ingersoll, Ontario manufacturing plant that it operates as a joint venture with Suzuki. Today the facility builds the Chevy Tracker and Suzuki Vitara compact sport-utility vehicles.

Future Models Will Give Saturn a 'Boost'

Saturn says it expects about a 10% increase in U.S. sales next year from the total expected for 2002, thanks to an updated and expanded lineup. Jill Lajdziak, vice president of Saturn Sales, Service, and Marketing, told reporters at a media preview for the new Ion line of small cars that Saturn is on track to set a new sales record this year, with sales of between 285,000 and 300,000 vehicles.

Chevrolet Plans to Offer Vue-based SUV in 2004


Last week General Motors confirmed rumors that Chevrolet will replace its aging Tracker SUV with a version of the Saturn Vue in 2004, as a 2005 model. The new SUV will be called the Equinox. Like the Vue, the Equinox will be a five-passenger sport-utility built on GM's Theta architecture.

Vue Powered by Honda in 2004

More information continues to surface regarding the Honda engine slated for the 2004 Saturn VUE sport utility. The Detroit Free Press reports today that General Motors has reduced the total number of 3.5L DOHC V-6 engines it plans to purchase from Honda. A 5-year technology and component-sharing contract signed between GM and Honda in December 1999.

This particular ad was printed inside the pages of a newspaper in New Jersey on June 25, 1993 to announce the opening of Saturn of Toms River.
