Saturn Picks Up "Most Significant Vehicle" Honor at Auto Show with 2009 Vue Hybrid

Saturn can add yet another distinction to its growing list of accolades garnered by its revitalized lineup. Earlier this week, the Detroit News named the upcoming 2009 Vue Green Line 2 Mode hybrid the most significant vehicle on display at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The sophisticated hybrid will go on sale before the end of the year.

Here's what the newspaper had to say about the high-tech Vue:

"It's not a concept or a theory. It's a gas-electric hybrid that will improve gas mileage by 50 percent. But its real significances lies in the fact that GM has created a drivetrain with a 3.6-liter engine that is going to make its way into a lot more vehicles."

Some other notable vehicles on display according to the newspaper:

  • Best new design: BMW X6
  • Most intriguing concept: Ford Explorer America concept
  • Best buy: Hyundai Genesis sedan
  • The concept it's time to build: Lexus LF-A
  • Best future Dream Cruiser: Corvette ZR1
