Yesterday General Motors announced its "GM 100th Anniversary Sales Event," offering customers employee pricing on virtually its entire lineup of in stock and remaining 2008 model year vehicles - including Saturns. The sale will run from August 20 through September 2, 2008. In addition to the special pricing, sources tell SaturnFans.com that Saturn plans to offer cashback bonus incentives on top of the discounted employee pricing. An official bulletin from Saturn is expected to be released later today with all the details, including the individual model incentive figures shown below:

  • Aura (4-cylinder) = $1,250
  • Aura (6-cylinder) = $1,750
  • Vue (4-cylinder) = $1,500
  • Vue (6-cylinder) = $2,500
  • Outlook = $1,500
  • Sky = $500

SaturnFans.com was told that bonus cash will not be offered on the Astra 3- or 5-door hatchback, Aura Green Line sedan, or Vue Green Line sport-utility models. Special stickers will reportedly be placed in vehicle windows at participating retail facilities that show the discounted price customers will pay, taking into account the employee (GMS) price and all applicable incentives and rebate offers. GM television commercials touting the event were already running last night during the Olympics.

Interested customers should visit this website or their local Saturn store for complete details and offer restrictions.

So technically we did go off road, but admittedly we probably didn't go much over 10 miles per hour...
