Mysterious 4th NYIAS Vehicle a 'Crossover Coupe' Concept

There has been a lot of buzz online about the mysterious fourth vehicle that's planned to be unveiled next week at the New York International Auto Show. The company has already said that Saturn will take the wraps off the production version of the 2007 Aura sedan, Sky Red Line, and Outlook midsize sport-utility. The fourth vehicle was generically described last week as "concept vehicle that will provide an indication of how the brand's new design cues will continue on future vehicles." As if trying to pique our interest just a little bit more before the big event next week, General Motors revealed some new information about what unannounced vehicle just might be. In the middle of a press release that was posted earlier this week, the company said that Saturn will unveil "a concept version of Saturn's next-generation compact crossover coupe."

Expect the so-called crossover coupe to be a sleek and sporty two-door sport-utility whose styling strongly hints at what's in planned for the next-generation 2008 Saturn Vue.

General Motors and Penske Automotive Group today confirmed details of a proposed transaction under which Penske would acquire the Saturn brand. If completed, the deal would save more than 350 dealerships and 13,000 jobs at Saturn and its retailers in the United States, and would preserve the customer-focused Saturn brand. The proposed transaction is part of GM's rebuilding efforts outlined in the viability plan that was submitted to the U.S. government earlier this year. Under the terms in the memorandum of understanding, Penske would obtain the rights to the brand as well as certain other Saturn assets.
