Second, Canada's auto journos — the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada — voted it best new vehicle in its class. And third, the Power Information Network people sent along the latest sales data about the new Vue. More than two-thirds, 68.1 percent, are under 54. This is showing up to be a very mainstream family vehicle.

This, we should point out, is not a full-blown hybrid, but a so-called "mild" one. That means the electric drive system won't run the Vue alone. Instead, it has a belt-alternator-starter system that provides a light boost during acceleration, captures energy during braking and restarts the engine after the vehicle comes to a stop. Simple and effective.
