GM Canada: Saturn Runs Rings Around Competition

Already offering the industry's freshest new vehicle line-up, Saturn is upping the ante yet again for 2009 with the planned addition of a third hybrid model and by offering its line-up of fuel efficient cars and crossovers at a price point designed to impress, all backed by Saturn's leading customer service and retail experience.

Consistent with its legacy of offering a leading customer experience, Saturn was recently ranked in first place among auto manufacturers in the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Canadian Customer Commitment Index Study, which measured customer satisfaction with the overall service experience. An important element of this has been Saturn's no-hassle approach, and for 2009, Saturn is building on that by bringing added pricing clarity, reflecting financing incentives directly in cash purchase prices. The result will be Saturn's most compelling prices ever.

On market for just two years, the Sky roadster represents the oldest model in Saturn's line-up and has been followed by other new model introductions that have garnered a host of praise from automotive critics and customers alike. And true to its green roots, Saturn offers Canadians excellent fuel efficient choices in each segment it competes in:

  • The sporty Sky roadster, honoured with AJAC's Best New Design award in 2007, gets better than 7.0L/100 km in highway cruising.
  • The European-built Astra small car, with its sophisticated 1.8L engine with variable valve timing, offers tremendous value with its combination of style, European ride dynamics, safety and fuel efficiency, helping it to capture AJAC's Best New Small Car honours in 2008. That's high praise in Canada's most competitive segment.
  • The Aura – North American Car of the Year in 2007, offers a 4cylinder engine and automatic six-speed transmission combination that achieves the segment's best highway fuel economy. The Aura Hybrid takes fuel savings even further, achieving a combined fuel consumption rating of just 6.9L/100 kms.
  • The Vue beat out 12 competitors to be named AJAC's Best New Crossover in 2008 and will soon add an entirely new 2-mode hybrid model, which is expected to achieve a 35% improvement in combined city/highway fuel consumption over a similarly equipped V6 gas-only Vue. It joins the current Vue hybrid, featuring the affordable GM hybrid system, making the Vue the only model to offer customers 2 distinct hybrid choices.
  • The Outlook, Saturn's highly refined and capable family hauler can tow over 2300 kg (5200 lbs) and features a strong, yet efficient 3.6L engine with direct injection and variable valve timing, which was recently named to Ward's AutoWorld magazine's 2009 "Ten Best Engines" list for North America. It is paired with a smooth 6-speed transmission, helping make the 8-passenger Outlook the segment's fuel economy leader.

Owner Story: A New Saturn Family

We purchased our new Aura a month ago. I never dreamed that I would own a Saturn, but the new Outlook and Aura caught my eye. Our daughter and son-in-law were having problems with their 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. I started to do some research on the Outlook, and was impressed with what I read.
