'08 Saturn Vue to be Unveiled in November

GM confirmed via its FastLane blog yesterday that the company plans to unveil its all-new 2008 Saturn Vue at the 2006 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show next month. The show opens to the press on November 29th. The new Vue will be virtually identical to the Opel Antara, shown in the picture above, that was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last week. Bryan Nesbitt, who Wards Auto magazine says oversees design for Opel and Saturn brands from Europe, told the publication that "you won't see much difference between the two vehicles (Antara and Vue)." Production is expected to start in the spring.

IIHS Top Safety Picks: Saturn Vue and Outlook

IIHS Crash Test Dummy

The Saturn Outlook, Saturn Vue, and seventy other vehicles earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick award for 2009. Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, and rear crashes based on good ratings in Institute tests. Winners also have to have electronic stability control (ESC), which research shows significantly reduces crash risk.
