Saturn to Offer Radios with USB Ports for Music Players on Select 2009 Models

The Associated Press says that Saturn will begin offering some of its 2009 models with stereos that include USB ports later in the model year. "The new radios will allow customers to play music from iPods or MP3 players," writes the AP, "while charging many of the devices through a USB port like the ones found on most computers."

According to the AP, the new radios will let users browse the music player's content "using the radio controls and electronic display."

Three GM models - the Chevrolet Cobalt and HHR and the Pontiac G5 - reportedly offer the option today, but GM says the availability of the new radios' will be increased mid-year. Car shoppers will be able to buy the new radios on the 2009 Saturn Sky and Aura, Pontiac G6 and Solstice, and the Chevrolet Malibu. Pricing of the new radios is not available at this time, but it will vary by model.
