Irmscher Modifies the Saturn Sky's European Cousin to Celebrate its 40th Anniversary

Irmscher GT i40

German aftermarket performance tuner Irmscher will introduce a modified V8 powered Opel GT at the Geneva Auto Show later this month. The car, dubbed the GT i40, features a 6.0L V8 engine that reportedly will make 473hp and will offer what the company calls "excellent driving performance."

According to its press release, the GT i40 features a "V8 engine and a driving performance that puts it in the company of thoroughbred sports cars, makes the experts sit up and take notice, and connoisseurs tingle with anticipation." The GT is visually enhanced "by means of a discreet modification to the car body, and on the interior with an exclusive leather fitting."

The GT i40 currently stands in a long tradition of elect vehicles. V8 engines have always had an important role to play at Irmscher. Special models with the "i" in their name have always had their place in the company's history. The "40" in the moniker GT i40 signifies the number of years the company has been in business. The company is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2008. The GT i40 will be produced in limited numbers.
