Any way you slice it, 100 years is a long time. Few companies have marked such a milestone, but later this year General Motors will clock its one-hundredth anniversary. The company's celebration started last week and it will continue all year long online and at events across the country.

Earlier this week, Fortune published its list of General Motors' ten most significant vehicles of its 100 year history. Saturn landed the list as it "represented a fresh start free of old encumbrances."

Here's the complete list in chronological order:

  • 1912 Cadillac
  • 1927 LaSalle
  • 1953 Chevrolet Corvette
  • 1955 Chevrolet
  • 1960 Chevrolet Corvair
  • 1964 Pontiac GTO

The first 2009 Saturn brochures are beginning to show up at retail facilities around the country. This year's book features glossy pages with sharp, vivid color photos. FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) paper was used and, according to Saturn, that means "a minimum of 30% post-consumer recovered fiber" is used in the creation of the paper. In addition, the company says the "electricity used in the manufacturing process is generated from renewable resources."
