Delivering Joy this Holiday Season

Delivering Joy this Holiday Season

Three Saturn Outlook vehicles filled with Saturn retailer and public donated housewarming gifts are parked in front of five new houses built by the Saturn Hands on Homes program in Detroit, Michigan last week.

How Direct Injection Works

Saturn's 2009 Outlook, Sky Red Line, and upcoming Vue 2-Mode hybrid models all feature powerplants using "direct injection" (DI) technology to improve power, efficiency, and emissions. In a conventionally port fuel injected engine, air and fuel are mixed before they enter the combustion chamber. With General Motors' DI engines, fuel is sprayed directly into the cylinder where it is mixed with air.

Owner Story: A New Saturn Family

We purchased our new Aura a month ago. I never dreamed that I would own a Saturn, but the new Outlook and Aura caught my eye. Our daughter and son-in-law were having problems with their 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. I started to do some research on the Outlook, and was impressed with what I read.

Review: Outlook Built on GM Lambda Architecture

2009 Saturn Outlook

G. Chambers Williams III from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: The Saturn Outlook offers seating for up to eight people, and GM believes that many consumers who might have considered buying a minivan in the past will choose these vehicles instead. Ours had the optional seven-passenger configuration, which includes two captain's chairs each in the first and second rows, and a three-person bench seat in the third row. Unlike most of the Outlook's competitors, there is ample room for three adults in the third row, and behind that seat there is nearly 20 cubic feet of cargo space – about the size of the trunk of a large sedan.

The engine is within GM's growing portfolio of direct injection engines and part of GM's overall strategy to equip vehicles with advanced propulsion technologies that improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.

GM Announces Significant Production Cuts for Q1 2009

General Motors announced today a significant reduction of planned production for the first quarter of 2009 due to the ongoing and severe drop in industry sales, which were down 36% in November overall and 41% for GM (2007 vs. 2008). The impact of these and recently announced actions to adjust production with market demand, will result in the temporary idling of approximately 30% of GM's North American assembly plant volume during the first quarter of 2009 and will remove approximately 250,000 units from production.

Going Big in the Saturn Outlook

Outlook Wallpaper

Trevor Hofmann from the Canadian Auto Press: I already knew that the General's Lambda-based crossovers were pretty special, and while the Outlook is more entry-level than Buick's Enclave, it's still impressively outfitted with standard soft-touch plastics, aluminum-look interior accents and high-quality fabric seats, not to mention standard air conditioning, power windows, power locks with remote access, and the list goes on. The standard feature that most impressed me, however, is interior spaciousness.

GM Employee Pricing Returns with a Twist

If you missed your chance to buy a new Saturn before the "GM Employee Pricing" promotion that ended last month, the Detroit News reports that you have another week or so to take advantage of special vehicle pricing. This time, though, there's a catch. Customers will only be offered the discount who are in possession of a coupon authorization code provided by a GM employee.
