Midday Update: Talks Resume Sunday Morning Between Delta Workers, GM

The Lansing State Journal reports this afternoon that union leaders at GM's Delta Township manufacturing plant in Michigan where the Saturn Outlook is made have and GM leaders have returned to the bargaining table.

Union leaders at GM's Delta Township plant and GM officials returned to the negotiation table today, officials said. Doug Rademacher, president of UAW Local 602, said negotiations with Delta employees were to resume at 11:15 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Some 2,300 workers at the Lansing Delta Township plant represented by UAW Local 602 walked out Thursday, shutting down the plant. Workers also went on strike Tuesday at Alliance Interiors, a Delta Township-based company that makes carpets for vehicles made at the GM plant. The walkout by about 90 workers represented by UAW Local 724 crippled production at the GM assembly plant that makes the popular Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook crossover vehicles.
