GM's Delta Plant Increases Crossover Production

With UAW members back at at work after a month-long strike at the Lansing Delta Township plant, the Detroit News reports that GM is looking to boost production of the popular Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave crossovers in an effort to rebuild inventory. GM spokesman Dan Flores told the Associated Press that "we're certainly happy to put this behind us, get our people back to work and resume production on these important products."

General Motors is rushing to make up for lost production in the wake of a month-long United Auto Workers strike at a Lansing-area assembly plant that builds the automaker's popular crossovers. GM's Delta Township factory will run two shifts on May 31 and June 7, both Saturdays, to rebuild supply of the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook, according to an online positing by UAW Local 602, which represents the plant. The union, in its online posting, said GM needs to make up 18,000 vehicles of production.
